An overloaded boat capsized in the Bagmati River near Kharka Ghat in Bihar's Sitamarhi district, but all passengers on board were rescued safely. Early reports said around 35 to 40 people were travelling in the vessel when it overturned, and no drowning was reported.

The rescue was carried out quickly by local residents, who stepped in soon after the boat went over. Their response helped bring everyone to safety before the situation could turn more serious.

The incident has raised fresh concerns about overcrowded river crossings and adherence to safety rules. Reports indicated the boat was operating despite an existing ban, adding to questions over how it was allowed to carry passengers.

Authorities have ordered an investigation into the capsize and the circumstances surrounding the boat's operation. The probe is expected to examine whether overloading and violations of restrictions contributed to the incident.
