AMD’s upcoming Medusa Point processor based on the Zen 6 architecture is showing stronger-than-expected early benchmark results. According to the latest Geekbench listing cited in the report, the 10-core chip reached 3,329 points in single-core and 16,555 points in multi-core testing while running at 5.4 GHz.
Those numbers put the new part ahead of the 10-core Strix Point generation built on Zen 5. The comparison highlighted in the report suggests performance gains of nearly 35% in some scenarios, with the Ryzen AI 9 365 also mentioned as a reference point for the uplift.
The result is notable because Medusa Point was already expected to improve on Strix Point, but these figures suggest the jump could be larger than many had anticipated. A 10-core Zen 6 chip posting this level of single-core and multi-core performance would point to meaningful architectural progress for AMD’s next CPU generation.
As with any early benchmark appearance, the scores should be viewed as a preview rather than a final measure of shipping performance. Even so, the latest Medusa Point result adds to expectations that Zen 6 could deliver a sizable step forward over Zen 5 in AMD’s upcoming lineup.
