Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath is set to inaugurate Gorakhpur’s first six-lane flyover on July 23, marking a major road infrastructure addition for the city. The project stretches 2.658 km and is being positioned as an important step toward improving urban mobility.
Built at a cost of Rs 429 crore, the flyover is expected to reduce congestion on the busy TP Nagar to Padleganj route. That corridor has been a key traffic pressure point, and the new elevated road is intended to make daily movement smoother for commuters and local transport.
The opening is significant for Gorakhpur as it adds a higher-capacity road link in a growing urban area. A six-lane flyover can help separate through traffic from local road movement, which often plays a major role in cutting delays at crowded junctions.
The inauguration also highlights the state government’s focus on transport and civic infrastructure in Uttar Pradesh. With the project ready for launch, attention will now turn to how much it improves traffic flow in one of Gorakhpur’s busiest stretches.
