Kolkata Police have arrested a 40-year-old woman in connection with a daylight robbery in Rajabagan in which a senior citizen was tied up and robbed. The accused, identified as Sultana Begum, was taken into custody as police moved ahead with the investigation.

According to the initial details released, the case involved the targeting of an elderly resident during the daytime. Investigators said the victim was restrained during the incident, raising concerns about the vulnerability of senior citizens living alone or with limited support.

Police also said they recovered around 80 grams of stolen gold jewellery linked to the robbery. The recovery is a key development in the case and may help investigators piece together how the crime was carried out and whether others were involved.

The arrest marks a significant step in the Rajabagan robbery probe. Authorities are expected to continue examining the circumstances of the incident while pursuing any remaining leads connected to the theft.
