Huawei has introduced LUTERRA, a next-generation Smart String Grid-Forming energy storage system platform under its FusionSolar brand. The company unveiled the product at Intersolar Europe in Germany last month, presenting it as a new milestone in its push into advanced storage technology.

According to Huawei, LUTERRA is the result of technology breakthroughs aimed at improving customer outcomes. The company is emphasizing the platform's grid-forming and smart string design approach, signaling a focus on stronger system performance and more capable energy storage solutions.

In material tied to the launch, Steve Zheng, president of Smart ESS Business at Huawei Digital Power, outlined the thinking behind the new platform. While the trimmed release does not include detailed technical specifications, Huawei is positioning LUTERRA as a product shaped by innovation in energy storage and power system design.
