The IndyCar Nashville Music City Grand Prix has been postponed after heavy rain affected Nashville Superspeedway. Organizers pushed the event back because of wet weather, delaying one of the series' scheduled race weekends.
According to the event update, the race is now set for July 20 at 2 p.m. CT, with FOX carrying the broadcast. The postponement changes the timing for fans and teams after conditions prevented the race from going ahead as originally planned.
Weather delays are a familiar challenge in motorsports, especially when heavy rain makes track conditions unsafe. In this case, the rainfall at Nashville Superspeedway was significant enough to force officials to move the race rather than continue waiting for conditions to improve.
The new Sunday start gives IndyCar a chance to complete the Nashville event under better conditions, with the Music City Grand Prix now shifted to a later date on the weekend.
