Josef Newgarden, a Nashville-area driver coming off a victory in the 2025 race, indicated that the longer format does not fundamentally alter how he plans to attack the event. His view suggests that while the numbers on paper are changing, the core demands of running fast and staying in control remain the same.
Kyle Kirkwood also weighed in on the expanded race, adding to the conversation around what the extra laps could mean for drivers and teams. A longer event can put more focus on endurance, consistency and decision-making, even if top competitors prefer not to overhaul their usual approach.
