Anthony McCarten’s political thriller The Price of Peace has moved into production, with principal photography now underway in London. The film adds Mia Threapleton and Danny Huston to a cast that already includes Guy Pearce, Jared Harris and Merab Ninidze.
The project is set in the period after World War Two and centers on major global figures from that era. Pearce is set to play Harry S. Truman, Harris will portray Winston Churchill, and Ninidze has been cast as Joseph Stalin.
With filming now started, the latest cast additions broaden attention around the historical drama as it takes shape. The combination of established screen names and a politically charged post-war setting positions The Price of Peace as a notable entry in the historical thriller space.
The announcement also puts fresh focus on McCarten’s latest film work, with London serving as the production base for the shoot. As cameras roll, The Price of Peace is emerging as a high-profile drama built around some of the most consequential leaders of the 20th century.
