Bristol Myers Squibb says it will expand its work with Nvidia by building what it describes as the biopharma industry’s most powerful and energy-efficient AI supercomputer system. According to the announcement, Bristol Myers plans to create an AI factory designed to support research and development across its business. The company also said it expects to be the first pharmaceutical company to run Nvidia’s Vera Rubin chips, signaling an effort to move quickly onto Nvidia’s next-generation AI hardware.
Bristol Myers said the new system would represent a major leap from its 2023 setup, with computing capacity increasing by roughly 15 times. That scale-up suggests the company is aiming to handle larger AI models and more demanding scientific workloads while also improving energy efficiency.
