Samsung may be preparing another camera upgrade for the Galaxy S25 lineup through software rather than new hardware. A leaked One UI 9.0 build for the Galaxy S25+ reportedly points to support for Horizontal Lock, a camera feature introduced with the newer Galaxy S26 series.
The finding suggests Samsung could continue its recent approach of moving selected flagship features to older premium phones after launch. According to the report, some improvements that debuted on the Galaxy S26 are already being adapted for the Galaxy S25 family, with Horizontal Lock now appearing as part of that effort.
Because the evidence comes from a leaked build, the feature is not confirmed for a public release yet. Still, its appearance in early software indicates Samsung is at least testing the option on the Galaxy S25+, and that raises the possibility of a wider rollout across the S25 range if development continues.
If it arrives in the final version of One UI 9.0 based on Android 17, Horizontal Lock would give Galaxy S25 users one more camera addition borrowed from Samsung's latest non-foldable flagship line. For now, the leak mainly shows that One UI 9.0 could play a key role in narrowing the feature gap between the Galaxy S25 and Galaxy S26.
