A ship operating near the Strait of Hormuz has reportedly been struck in an incident off the coast of the United Arab Emirates. According to the report, the event took place about 17 nautical miles east of Dibba.

The vessel’s master said the ship was hit by an unknown projectile, which caused damage to the steering gear. Despite the impact, all crew members were reported safe.

The United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations, or UKMTO, received the incident report and circulated the basic details. No environmental impact was reported in the immediate aftermath.

The episode adds to concerns around maritime safety in waters close to the Strait of Hormuz, a critical shipping route. At this stage, only limited information has been released, and the nature of the projectile and the circumstances of the strike remain unclear.
