Apple has fixed a security issue in its Hide My Email feature after reporting by 404 Media brought renewed attention to the problem. The flaw reportedly made it possible for outside parties to determine a user’s real email address, even though the tool is designed to keep that information private.
Hide My Email is intended to give users a masked address that forwards messages while shielding their actual inbox details. According to the report, that protection was undermined by a vulnerability that could expose the underlying email account tied to the service.
