Nashik is set to add 50 air-conditioned electric buses to its public transport network ahead of Simhastha 2027, a major milestone as the city prepares for the next Kumbh gathering. The new buses are expected to strengthen local mobility while supporting cleaner urban transport.
According to the announcement, the Nashik Municipal Corporation has signed a 10-year agreement with JBM Ecolife for the deployment of the fleet. The project will be implemented under the PM e-Bus Sewa initiative, linking the city’s event preparations with a broader push toward electric public transport.
The planned rollout of AC e-buses could help Nashik handle rising travel demand in the run-up to the large religious event. Better bus availability may also ease pressure on conventional transport options as the city plans for increased passenger movement.
The deal highlights how civic bodies are increasingly turning to electric mobility for long-term transport needs. For Nashik, the addition of 50 e-buses signals both event readiness and a wider shift toward modern, lower-emission public transit.
