Heavy monsoon rain lashed South Gujarat, leaving parts of Surat and nearby areas struggling with severe waterlogging. In Valsad, flooding was reported as persistent rainfall pushed water levels higher and disrupted normal movement.
The situation worsened after creeks overflowed in some locations, adding to the impact of the downpour. Low-lying stretches were submerged, and civic authorities were forced to respond quickly as rainwater accumulated across urban pockets.
The Surat Municipal Corporation was deployed for local relief and response work, while NDRF and SDRF teams were also mobilized as a precaution amid worsening conditions. Their presence underlined the seriousness of the weather situation as officials monitored flooded zones and vulnerable areas.
Red alerts were issued as heavy rainfall continued to affect the region. The warnings reflected the risk of further flooding and waterlogging across South Gujarat, with authorities remaining on alert as the monsoon spell showed little immediate sign of easing.
