Goa received near-normal rainfall of 37.8mm, but the latest spell was not enough to significantly improve the season’s rainfall gap. The state’s monsoon deficit continued at 36%, showing that a single day of close-to-average rain has not yet changed the broader seasonal picture.
Weather conditions are expected to remain active, with the India Meteorological Department issuing a yellow alert for the state. The forecast points to moderate rainfall, along with isolated heavy showers, indicating that some areas could see more intense downpours than others.
The IMD has also warned of winds reaching 40 to 50 kmph, adding to the unsettled weather outlook. Such conditions can bring brief periods of rough weather even when the overall rain pattern appears moderate.
For now, the key concern remains the persistent shortfall in monsoon rainfall. While fresh showers have offered some relief, Goa still faces a sizable deficit, and more sustained rainfall will be needed before the gap begins to narrow in a meaningful way.
