A 19-year-old man died after drowning in Sheetal Talao in Mumbai’s Kurla West area during a swimming race with a friend. The victim was identified as Aditya Tawade.
According to the available details, the incident happened while the teenager was in the water for the race. Emergency responders from the fire brigade later pulled him out and rushed him for medical treatment.
He was taken to Rajawadi Hospital, where doctors declared him dead on arrival. The case has drawn attention to the dangers of swimming in open water, especially during informal competitions or risky outings.
