The Bihar government has moved to upgrade child care infrastructure by signing a memorandum of understanding with two private firms to modernise 1,050 Anganwadi centres. The agreement was signed through the state’s Integrated Child Development Services (ICDS) setup.
According to the announcement, the plan includes the development of 1,000 Nandghars across Bihar. In addition, 50 Anganwadi centres in Darbhanga are set to be upgraded under the arrangement.
The partnership brings together the government and the private sector for a large-scale improvement drive focused on Anganwadi centres, which play an important role in services linked to early childhood care and support. The move signals an effort to strengthen facilities across the state through targeted modernisation.
With the MoU now in place, the initiative is expected to shape the next phase of infrastructure improvements at Anganwadi centres in Bihar, with statewide coverage and a specific focus on Darbhanga as part of the broader rollout.
