The Secretary-General of the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation, Hissein Brahim Taha, has issued a strong statement condemning what the group described as continued Iranian aggression against several member states. The criticism highlighted Jordan, Kuwait and Bahrain, underscoring the OIC’s concern over actions it says are targeting countries within the organization.
The statement also rejected threats by the Houthi militia to continue a blockade affecting Yemen. According to the OIC position, any move to maintain pressure on the country in this way would deepen the suffering of Yemenis and worsen an already difficult humanitarian situation.
By linking the concerns over Iran and the Houthis, the OIC signaled that it sees both issues as part of a broader challenge to regional stability and the security of its member nations. The organization’s response reflects ongoing alarm over escalation, cross-border tensions and the impact of conflict on civilians.
The remarks place renewed focus on political and security strains across the Middle East, especially where state-to-state friction and armed group threats overlap. The OIC’s message was clear in opposing attacks on its members while warning against actions that further isolate and harm the people of Yemen.
