Saturn’s moon Titan stands out as one of the most remarkable objects in the solar system because it is actually wider than the planet Mercury. At about 5,150 kilometers across, Titan edges past Mercury in diameter, even though Mercury is a full-fledged planet orbiting the Sun.
That size comparison often surprises people. Titan is not only Saturn’s biggest moon, but also the second-largest moon in the solar system, behind Jupiter’s Ganymede. Its sheer width makes it larger than an entire planet, which is a rare distinction for any moon.
