The Houthis accused Saudi forces of hitting civilian infrastructure in Hodeida, a key city under rebel control. Saudi Arabia, however, said the operation targeted military sites, highlighting the sharply different accounts from both sides.
The latest strikes come amid an escalating flare-up involving the Yemen-based movement and Saudi Arabia. Hodeida has long been a strategically important location in the conflict, making any military action there especially sensitive.
With the Houthis now warning of retaliation, the incident raises the risk of further instability. It also underscores how quickly fighting around Yemen and Saudi Arabia can intensify when both sides frame the same attack in very different terms.
