Exeter Post 32 and Rochester Post 7 both began the annual American Legion State Tournament with victories Friday at Holman Stadium in Nashua, giving both clubs an early boost in state competition.
Exeter, identified as the District B No. 2 seed, opened the event with a win over a District A opponent. The result put Post 32 on the right track at the start of tournament play and kept its postseason run moving forward.
Rochester Post 7 also came away with an opening-day victory, matching Exeter’s fast start. With both teams earning wins in Nashua, the Seacoast programs made a strong statement in the first round of the state tournament.
The twin victories set up an encouraging start for Exeter and Rochester as the American Legion baseball tournament continues. Winning the opener is always important in a state event, and both teams now carry momentum into their next games.
