Klein argued that backing the measure undermined both Israeli security and broader US interests. His comments framed the issue as more than a budget dispute, presenting military support for Israel as a key part of the strategic relationship between the two countries.
The reaction came after the motion was introduced in the House of Representatives and did not succeed. Even so, the vote drew attention because it highlighted continuing divisions in Washington over US policy toward Israel and the future of military assistance.
By condemning those who voted for the cut, Klein signaled that pro-Israel groups are likely to keep pressing lawmakers over aid commitments and security cooperation.
