Imola is being lined up as a backup venue for the Formula One season finale if the last two scheduled rounds in Qatar and Abu Dhabi cannot be staged. The Italian circuit would step in as an alternative end point for the championship under the revised planning.
The track is closely linked to Ferrari, the team now associated with Lewis Hamilton, which adds extra attention to the proposal. If the original final races are disrupted, the season could instead conclude at Ferrari's home circuit in Imola.
Formula One organizers have already been forced to adjust the championship calendar, and the latest contingency plan shows how the series is preparing for further uncertainty. Rather than leave the finale without a host, officials appear to be keeping Imola ready in case changes are needed.
For now, Qatar and Abu Dhabi remain the scheduled closing rounds. But with Imola on standby, Formula One has a clear fallback option to ensure the season can still end with a decisive final event if the current plan cannot be completed.
