Girlguiding has announced its first major uniform redesign since 1990, marking a significant update for the organisation's members. The new look is intended to reflect the charity's heritage while also introducing more modern colours and prints.
One of the biggest changes is greater flexibility in how the uniform can be worn. Under the new rules, members will be able to choose a top from the updated range and pair it with their own trousers, moving away from a more fixed head-to-toe outfit.
The collection includes 30 clothing items, along with 15 accessories and neckerchiefs. That wider range suggests Girlguiding is aiming to offer more choice across its sections while keeping recognisable elements of the organisation's identity.
The redesign is a notable shift for a uniform that has remained broadly unchanged for decades. By combining traditional features with a more current style and more practical options, Girlguiding appears to be updating how its members dress while still keeping a clear link to its past.
