A bomb threat targeting the passport office in Ranchi led to a security search at Galaxia Mall on Ratu Road. The alert was reportedly sent by email, prompting police to move in and secure the location as a precaution.
A search operation was carried out by local police along with Jharkhand Jaguar’s bomb detection and disposal team. Officers checked the mall premises and looked for any suspicious object linked to the threat.
Authorities later said no suspicious items were found during the operation. Police described the bomb threat as a hoax after the search did not uncover any explosive material.
Even though the threat turned out to be false, the incident triggered a full emergency response around the passport office and the mall. The case highlights how such email threats can quickly lead to major security checks in busy public places.
