SpaceX launched another set of Starlink satellites from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California, using a Falcon 9 rocket to send 24 spacecraft into orbit. The mission was part of the company’s ongoing effort to expand its Starlink internet constellation.
The flight, identified as Starlink 17-52, lifted off from the West Coast launch site aboard one of SpaceX’s workhorse Falcon 9 rockets. The mission continued a familiar pattern for the company, which regularly uses the vehicle to deploy new batches of Starlink satellites.
Starlink is SpaceX’s satellite broadband network, and each launch adds more spacecraft to the system in orbit. By sending another 24 satellites from Vandenberg, SpaceX further built out the network’s coverage and capacity.
The launch also highlighted the importance of Vandenberg Space Force Base in SpaceX’s launch schedule, especially for Starlink missions heading to specific orbital paths. With this flight, the company maintained its steady pace of missions tied to the growth of its satellite internet service.
