Bharti Airtel reported a strong start to FY27, with net profit excluding exceptional items rising 35.5% year on year to Rs 8,057.2 crore in the April-June quarter. The telecom operator’s latest results were supported by customer growth and solid operating performance.

Consolidated revenue increased 18.4% from a year earlier, showing broad momentum across the business. In India mobile, revenue grew 9.2%, helped by a better average revenue per user (ARPU) and a larger base of data customers.

The quarter also saw record postpaid net additions, highlighting Airtel’s ability to attract more higher-value subscribers. Growth in smartphone and data usage appears to have added to the company’s mobile business performance during the period.

Overall, the first-quarter numbers suggest Airtel benefited from both subscriber expansion and improved monetisation. The update points to continued demand for mobile services in India, with customer quality and usage trends remaining important drivers of earnings.
