The government has opened a fresh application window from August 17 to August 31 for organisations seeking recognition as GATCs, or Government Approved Test Centres. Eligible applicants include industries, laboratories, engineering colleges, polytechnics, ITIs and testing facilities.

According to the announcement, the application process will run entirely through an online portal. Applicants can submit forms digitally, pay the required fee online, track the status of their application and receive official communication through the same system.

The move is aimed at making the recognition process more transparent and efficient for institutions that want to be approved as test centres. By shifting the workflow online, the government is positioning the system as more business-friendly and easier to navigate for a wide range of technical and industrial entities.

The application window is limited to the two-week period ending on August 31, so eligible organisations will need to complete their submissions within the notified dates. The digital portal is expected to serve as the single interface for the full recognition process during this round.
