Hyundai Motor India Ltd has introduced an assured buyback program for the CRETA Electric in India, adding a resale value promise to its electric SUV offering. The company said customers will get an assured buyback value of 60% after three years, subject to a usage limit of up to 45,000 km.
The move is designed to address one of the common concerns around electric vehicle ownership: future resale value. By putting a defined buyback structure in place for the CRETA Electric, Hyundai is trying to make the purchase decision more predictable for buyers who are considering a switch to an EV.
The new program also strengthens Hyundai’s broader push in India’s growing electric vehicle market. A guaranteed value after a set ownership period can help reduce uncertainty for first-time EV customers, especially in a segment where total ownership costs and long-term returns are closely watched.
With the CRETA Electric buyback plan, Hyundai is pairing its product launch strategy with an ownership support measure aimed at improving confidence in EV adoption. The offer gives the model an added financial assurance element at a time when competition in India’s electric SUV space is increasing.
