Ben Murray-Bruce has called on Innoson Vehicle Manufacturing to make electric vehicles a central part of its future plans. The Silverbird Group founder argued that Nigeria’s economic and energy realities make EVs a strong area for local investment and innovation.

His position is tied to the pressure many Nigerians face from higher fuel costs. In that context, he suggested that electric mobility could become a practical alternative if domestic manufacturers move early and build vehicles suited to local demand.

Murray-Bruce also pointed to Nigeria’s solar energy potential as a reason the country should take electric vehicles more seriously. With abundant sunshine and growing interest in alternative power sources, he indicated that EV adoption could fit into a broader conversation about reducing dependence on petrol and expanding energy options.

Another part of his argument is Nigeria’s lithium deposits, which are closely linked to battery production. By urging Innocent Chukwuma and Innoson to prioritize electric vehicles, Murray-Bruce is highlighting a possible industrial opportunity that connects natural resources, local manufacturing and the changing direction of global transport.
