Donald Trump’s so-called "Liberation Day" tariff refunds have climbed to about $100bn, according to the report. That amount represents roughly 60% of all tariff revenue collected under the policy, making the repayment total a major part of the overall programme.
Even with that large sum already returned, a sizable amount is still outstanding. The report says nearly $29bn in possible refunds is still being reviewed by trade authorities, showing that a substantial share of claims has not yet been fully resolved.
Another $1.6bn remains tied up because importers have not yet completed the steps needed to receive the money. That means the final refund figure could rise further if pending reviews are approved and remaining claims are processed.
The numbers highlight both the scale of the tariff policy and the complexity of unwinding it through repayments. While $100bn in Trump Liberation Day tariff refunds marks a significant milestone, billions of dollars are still moving through the system.
