Former Danville-New London and Iowa State runner Allen Bonnesen captured the gold medal in the 10,000 meters on Aug. 1 at the fourth annual FISU America Games in Lima, Peru.
The event gave Iowa collegians another opportunity to compete on an international track-and-field stage. The Lima competition brought together athletes while showcasing performances from runners connected to Iowa programs.
The roundup also includes Peyton Steffen, Tyson Wieland, Shelby Houlihan, Biya Simbassa, Wesley Kiptoo and Kassie Parker. Their names are part of the latest Iowa-related results from the South American meet.
