FX Networks’ The Shards debuts tonight with a two-episode premiere, introducing a new television adaptation based on Bret Easton Ellis’s bestselling novel. The series is set against the vivid backdrop of 1980s Los Angeles.
The premiere comes from executive producer Ryan Murphy, known for projects including American Horror Story and American Love Story. Its opening release gives viewers the first two installments of the Murphy-led adaptation in one launch.
The first episode is paired with Season 1, Episode 2, titled “Don’t You Want Me.” The preview focuses on the series opener and its immediate follow-up as The Shards begins its run on FX and Hulu.
With Ellis’s source material, Murphy’s creative involvement and a distinctly 1980s Los Angeles setting, The Shards arrives as a new drama built around a recognizable literary property and a prominent television production team.
