The Israeli side presented the action as a response to what it considers noncompliance with the terms meant to limit friction in the area.
At the same time, Lebanon reported casualties from an Israeli strike in the south. The Lebanese Health Ministry said one person was killed and 12 others were wounded in a drone strike in the Nabatieh district on Wednesday.
The developments point to fresh strain around the cease-fire framework, with Israel and Lebanon giving sharply different emphases to events on the ground. The latest strike and evacuation order underscore how quickly the situation in southern Lebanon can escalate even when formal truce arrangements remain in place.
