Toyota Motor has started recruiting residents of Shizuoka Prefecture for Woven City, an experimental community designed to support the development of future technologies.
Around 25 households are expected to move to the site for a two-year period beginning in March 2027. The recruitment is focused on people from the prefecture who may take part in the community’s early phase.
The project represents Toyota’s effort to use a real-world residential setting for testing and developing emerging technologies. Woven City is being positioned as a living environment where future-focused ideas can be explored.
