Jacques Marie Mage spent three years developing a pair of sunglasses for Bob Dylan, using Grade 6 titanium in a notably substantial 6mm format. The project highlights the brand’s preference for bold, weighty eyewear rather than ultra-thin frames.

The unusual construction helps explain why the design required such a long development period. Pressing a frame from 6mm titanium presents a very different challenge from producing the lighter, slimmer styles that have become common across the eyewear market.

For Jacques Marie Mage, the Dylan project fits an established design identity built around chunky silhouettes and premium materials. The Los Angeles-based label has made that unapologetically oversized approach central to its luxury eyewear business.

The result is a distinctive titanium interpretation of Bob Dylan’s shades, combining the musician’s association with the frame with Jacques Marie Mage’s signature heavy construction.
