A pet adoption campaign in Bengaluru helped eight rescued dogs find new homes, bringing attention to the larger need for responsible adoption and animal welfare. The initiative, titled Adopt Me–Second Innings, featured more than 40 rescued Indian dogs that were made available for potential adopters.

The event was organised by BECC and focused not only on rehoming abandoned or rescued animals, but also on educating the public about long-term pet care. Indian dogs were at the centre of the campaign, underlining the need to give rescued local breeds a fair chance at adoption.

Along with adoption, the campaign highlighted the importance of vaccination and rabies prevention. By linking pet adoption with basic public health awareness, the event promoted safer communities as well as better outcomes for animals.

While eight adoptions marked a positive result, the campaign also reflected the ongoing challenge of finding homes for rescued dogs. Organisers used the event to encourage informed, responsible adoption rather than impulse decisions, stressing care, commitment and regular vaccination as essential parts of pet ownership.
