Regular mixed train service is set to return on the Kalka-Shimla Heritage Railway from July 16, restoring another option for travelers on one of India’s most recognized hill routes. The line, known for its heritage value and scenic journey, is part of the UNESCO-listed mountain railway network.
Under the resumed schedule, the train will leave Kalka at 8am and begin its return trip from Shimla at 5pm. The restored service is expected to improve connectivity for visitors planning trips between the plains and the hill station during the tourism season.
