Rath Yatra celebrations spread across several international cities over the weekend as members of the Odia diaspora organized festive chariot processions in Japan and Australia. The events reflected the growing global presence of the traditional festival and brought communities together far from home.

In Japan, Kasugai hosted one of the highlighted celebrations, while in Australia, processions were held in Sydney, Melbourne and Canberra. The gatherings drew large crowds, with thousands taking part in or witnessing the events.

The overseas observances showed how Odia cultural and religious traditions continue to be preserved and shared by diaspora communities. Chariot processions remain at the heart of Rath Yatra, and the weekend events gave families and local community groups an opportunity to celebrate the occasion collectively.

With multiple cities joining in, the festival once again demonstrated its reach beyond India. The turnout in Japan and Australia underscored the enthusiasm of the Odia diaspora for keeping Rath Yatra vibrant on the global stage.
