Russia hit multiple locations in Ukraine on Friday, including a defense-related event on the outskirts of Kyiv that was believed to be demonstrating aerial defense technology such as drones. Ukrainian officials said 10 people were killed and around 100 were injured in the attack.
The strike near Kyiv stood out because the site was reportedly connected to a demonstration of systems meant to improve protection from air threats. The incident added to the pressure on Ukraine as it continues to face repeated Russian attacks on military, industrial and civilian-linked targets.
The timing also drew attention because it came a day after President Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with representatives of US defense company Raytheon. That meeting highlighted Ukraine's ongoing push to strengthen air defense and deepen cooperation with foreign arms producers during the war.
Separately, in St. Petersburg, another Wildberries warehouse was reported to have come under drone fire. Taken together, the developments showed that the conflict continues to affect both Ukraine and sites inside Russia, with drones and air defense remaining central to the fighting.
