At least 11 people were reported killed after Ukraine and Russia exchanged drone strikes, according to officials on both sides of the war. The deaths were reported in the partly Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia region in southern Ukraine and in Ukraine’s northeastern Sumy region.
Moscow-installed officials said a Ukrainian attack hit tourist resorts in the occupied part of Zaporizhzhia, leaving eight people dead. The claim points to another strike in an area held by Russian forces, where civilian sites have become part of the wider battlefield.
Ukrainian authorities, meanwhile, said a Russian drone strike in the Sumy region killed three people. Sumy, which borders Russia, has faced repeated attacks as Moscow continues to use drones and other long-range weapons against Ukrainian territory.
The reported deaths show how drone warfare is continuing to shape the conflict far from the main front lines. With both sides reporting deadly strikes, the latest attacks underscore the growing toll on areas where civilians live, travel, and work.
