SpaceX completed a Saturday morning launch from Vandenberg Space Force Base, sending a Falcon 9 rocket into space with 24 Starlink satellites on board. The mission lifted off from Space Launch Complex 4 East, also known as SLC-4E.
According to the update, liftoff took place shortly after 8:50 a.m. The launch had been scheduled as an early weekend mission from the Central Coast base, with SpaceX preparing to place the payload into low-Earth orbit.
The flight added another group of Starlink satellites to SpaceX’s growing internet network in orbit. Vandenberg Space Force Base remains a key West Coast launch site for Falcon 9 missions, especially flights carrying Starlink satellites.
The launch drew attention as another routine but closely watched SpaceX mission from California, with the Falcon 9 once again used to deploy satellites designed for low-Earth orbit operations.
