Tech Mahindra Chairman Anand Mahindra has said the role of IT services will not shrink in the age of artificial intelligence. Instead, he indicated that these services will become even more important as companies try to turn AI into something practical, reliable and useful inside their organizations.

Speaking during the company’s annual general meeting, Mahindra stressed that enterprises need more than access to AI tools. They also need support in making those technologies usable, trusted and capable of delivering real business value. That places IT services firms in a key position as businesses move from AI experimentation to wider deployment.

The comments reflect a broader industry shift in which the focus is moving beyond AI hype toward implementation. For many companies, the challenge is not just adopting AI, but integrating it into existing systems, workflows and decision-making in a way that employees and customers can rely on.

Mahindra’s remarks suggest that IT services providers are likely to play a central role in helping enterprises manage that transition. As AI becomes more embedded in business operations, service firms could be increasingly relied on to bridge the gap between emerging technology and measurable enterprise outcomes.
