SeAH Aerospace & Defense has signed a long-term agreement with Airbus, putting the company on track to become South Korea's first aluminum alloy supplier for the aircraft maker. The announcement highlights SeAH A&D's entry into a highly demanding part of the global aerospace materials market.
According to the company, Airbus recognized SeAH A&D for strong process control and quality standards. That recognition supported the agreement even before final product certification is completed, showing Airbus' confidence in the supplier's manufacturing systems and quality management.
SeAH A&D said the formal quality certification process for the products is expected to begin in the second half of this year. Final certification will be a key step before the company can fully move forward as an approved supplier under the Airbus program.
The deal is a notable development for SeAH A&D and for Korea's aerospace materials sector. If certification proceeds as planned, the agreement would strengthen the company's position in international aerospace supply chains and expand Korea's presence in high-specification alloy production for major aircraft manufacturers.
