Protium Finance is in advanced talks to acquire Clix Capital, with the deal likely to value the mid-market commercial finance company at about Rs 1,900 crore to Rs 2,200 crore. The proposed transaction would mark a significant step for the Mumbai-based non-bank lender as it looks to grow through acquisition.

Based on the reported discussions, Protium is pursuing Clix Capital to add scale and broaden its business. A takeover would help the company deepen its market presence and strengthen its product portfolio in commercial finance and related lending segments.

The report indicates that Protium has been negotiating with key shareholders of Clix Capital. If the transaction goes through, it could also pave the way for Aion Capital Partners to exit its investment in the company.

While the deal has not been announced as final, the talks highlight ongoing consolidation interest in India’s non-bank lending space. For Protium, acquiring Clix Capital would be a notable move to accelerate expansion rather than relying only on organic growth.
