Air India has launched Easy Connect services from Amritsar, opening a simpler travel option for passengers heading to 27 international destinations. The new service links Punjab to overseas routes through Delhi, expanding the airline’s connectivity from the city.
Under the Easy Connect model, travelers can complete through check-in at Amritsar and also finish immigration formalities there before taking their domestic leg to Delhi. This is designed to make the transfer process smoother for passengers continuing on international flights.
The rollout brings Punjab into the Government of India’s hub-and-spoke aviation push, which aims to connect more regional cities to long-haul international networks through major hubs. Air India said the service gives Amritsar passengers easier access to a wide set of overseas destinations, including routes to the United States.
For travelers from Amritsar and nearby areas, the move is expected to reduce some of the friction normally involved in connecting through a larger airport. By combining local processing with onward international access via Delhi, Air India is positioning the service as a more seamless option for global travel from Punjab.
