A new study published in the journal Aging suggests that a simple daily serving of plain probiotic yogurt could play a role in healthier ageing. Researchers reported that eating around 100 grams a day, when combined with regular exercise and a balanced diet, may help slow the body’s biological ageing.

The findings stand out because they focus on an everyday food rather than expensive supplements or anti-ageing treatments. In India, yogurt or curd is already a common part of many meals, and the study points to its potential value as part of a broader lifestyle approach to long-term health.

Biological ageing is different from chronological age, as it reflects how quickly the body is ageing internally. According to the study, people who followed the yogurt-inclusive routine alongside other healthy habits showed slower biological ageing than might be expected otherwise.

The research does not present probiotic yogurt as a magic solution on its own. Instead, it adds to growing evidence that consistent habits such as nutritious eating, physical activity, and simple gut-friendly foods may support a longer and healthier life.
