Varun Beverages is leaning more heavily on its international business as a growth driver, with overseas volumes rising 38% in the June quarter. That pace was far stronger than the company’s India business, showing how its foreign markets are becoming increasingly important to overall performance.
The company, PepsiCo’s largest franchise bottler outside the United States, appears to be benefiting from a wider footprint beyond India. The latest quarter suggests that international demand is expanding at nearly three times the pace seen in its domestic market, giving the company a broader base for future growth.
A key factor behind that momentum was the Twizza acquisition, which strengthened Varun Beverages’ position in South Africa. The deal not only supported overseas volumes but also added manufacturing capability, helping the company deepen its presence in that market.
Varun Beverages is also pursuing further expansion through acquisitions, including a planned deal involving Devyani Food Industries. Together, these moves point to a strategy centered on building scale outside India while using new assets to support volume growth and production capacity in international markets.
