City Union Bank reported a strong start to FY27, posting a 25% year-on-year rise in net profit to ₹383 crore for the quarter ended June 2026. The private sector lender’s first-quarter performance was supported by growth in net interest income, indicating a healthy expansion in its core lending business.
The latest earnings were also backed by robust advances growth, a key sign of loan demand and balance-sheet momentum. Alongside higher lending activity, the bank benefited from improving asset quality, which helped strengthen the overall earnings picture in the June quarter.
Net interest income remained an important driver of the result, reflecting the bank’s ability to generate more income from its loan book. Better asset quality further supported profitability by easing pressure from stressed loans and improving the quality of earnings.
With solid quarterly numbers and steady operating trends, City Union Bank’s FY27 outlook appears positive. The combination of NII growth, stronger advances and improving asset quality suggests the lender is entering the financial year with supportive business momentum.
