Mars Wrigley is planning a major reduction at its Newark headquarters, with 307 jobs set to be eliminated. The move is tied to the company’s decision to bring more corporate functions together in Chicago, reshaping how those operations are organized.
The changes also include the planned shutdown of the Newark Market Hub. According to the information released, that facility is expected to close by December 2027, extending the impact of the company’s broader consolidation beyond the initial round of job cuts.
The workforce reduction is expected to take place by October, marking a significant shift for Mars Wrigley’s New Jersey presence. While the company is keeping some operations in the state, the announcement signals that Newark will no longer serve the same role it has in the past.
